Student Competition – Revision to Guidelines
Just a heads up the Guidelines document for the Student Competition has been revised to include the correct web address for the Youth Emergency Shelter Society and the actual entry form that is to be adhered to mounted entries. Sorry for the confusion. Thanks!
Student Competition
Calling all eager, talented, currently enrolled students!
Information regarding the 2009 ACE Awards Student Competition is now available for download. Below is a document outlining the guidelines for submission (including the necessary entry forms), and the client logos.
ACE is very pleased to announce that the client featured in this year’s brief is Edmonton’s Youth Emergency Shelter Society (YESS). YESS has been helping youth since the 1980s and has worked with more than 20,000 kids and thousands of different families. The organization has fallen short of its 2009 fundraising goal by roughly $250,000 and risks having to cut staff and programming services to cover the deficit.
ACE invites students to submit entries for the ACE 2009 Student Competition in the form of a postcard size creative execution that works to raise awareness for YESS and their desperate need for funds. ACE is offering a $500 prize to the winning student or group in each of two categories.
- The first will be awarded to the student or group whose entry reflects visual excellence, for photography or illustration (computer or traditional). The monetary value of this award will be $500.
- The second will be awarded to the student or group whose entry reflects the most creative execution of the marketing brief, either overall or in the area of art direction, copywriting or design. The monetary value of this award will also be $500.
Please read the Guidelines document thoroughly for detailed information about eligibility, submission rules, deadlines, and background information on YESS. The timeline for this competition is very tight, so be sure to get started right away.Your entry must submitted on Thursday, February 4th at Venture Publishing (10259 – 105 Street) between 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
The judges will include some of the best and brightest from Edmonton advertising agencies (a perfect chance to get your work in front of a potential future employer!) and a client representative. We’re very excited to see the work of Edmonton’s up and coming design and marketing talent! Good luck to all entrants!
